Position Summary

Based within the Grants Unit, the Project Officer supports the Grants Managers across various grants and projects designed to contribute to a world where every person living with HIV enjoys their right to a healthy and dignified life, free from stigma and discrimination. The Grants unit focuses on participatory grant making with PLHIV and Key Population-led networks and organizations to have sustained political and financial support to continue leading the HIV response and contributing to other movements.

Working closely with the GNP+ Finance Department to develop and monitor budgets and donor compliance, the Project Officer is a key player in working with partners and delivering reports for in-house use and for donor requirements. Further, the Project Officer provides information to and engages with the GNP+ Advocacy, Communications and Partnership department to ensure the work of global, regional and national PLHIV and Key Population-led organizations is elevated within the work of the organization.

Programmatic

With support develops work plans for specific projects
Works directly with partners to design and implement project work plans to achieve organizational strategic goals
Monitors implementation of specific projects by partners
Ensures timely reporting by partners under specific projects
Evaluates specific projects for development of work plans

Finance

Supports the development of budgets for specific projects
Works directly with partners to design and implement project budgets
Monitors the budgets of specific projects
Ensures timely reporting by partners under specific projects
Evaluates specific projects for development of budgets

Resource Mobilization

Actively engages and develops resource mobilization to sustain specific projects and grow the organization

Donor Relations

Ensures there is compliance with donor requirements in project implantation of partners
Supports relations with donor programmatic and financial focal points
When required, supports with donor management

Your profile

Based in Amsterdam or remote.
Identifies with the communities that GNP+ serves – candidates identify as Living with HIV are encouraged to apply
Good command of English (written/spoken) – candidates with further languages that support the role are encouraged to apply
Diplomatic and inclusive with a professional approach to working within a team and with partners
Well organized, timely with deliverables and self-sufficient
Ability to multitask and coordinate with partners and consultants

We are the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+), a network for people living with HIV, run by people living with HIV. How We Began:
People Living with HIV came tighter for their first conference in 1986. Since then, regular conferences have taken place, giving our community an opportunity to share information and develop ideas for joint activism. Over time, our discussions led to the development of programmes to tackle the HIV epidemic. By 1992, it was clear that we needed an organisation to take on this programme work, and GNP+ was born. Today, GNP+ has staff based in offices in Amsterdam and Cape Town, plus a few in other parts of the world, all working together with a network of partners, allies and supporters to deliver global advocacy programmes.
